Chappell’s 200th anniversary concerts

The concert series to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Chappell’s music store got off to a flying start with a fantastic recital from Freddy Kempf. The world famous piano hall at Chappell’s in Bond Street was full of lovers of classical music to witness the genius of pianist Kempf.
The applause was rapturous and resounded around this hallowed hall. If the rest of the series comes anywhere close to the success of the opening recital, the event will be a phenomenal success. All proceeds go to Centrepoint, the charity which assists young homeless people.

The exclusive recital on Monday 4th April treated a select audience of 45 people to an up close and personal performance of the highest quality from Freddy Kempf, one of the most important young artists of today, and also provided the unique opportunity for audience members to meet Freddy Kempf who gave a fascinating insight into his chosen repertoire between pieces.

The 200th Anniversary Concert series continues on Friday 3rd June with a recital by the sensational Artur Pizarro, to be followed by Mercury Music nominees The Kit Downes Trio and Jamie Cullum whose exclusive show will provide the finale in December. Tickets are just £50 and guests have the chance to meet these world-class artists.

All of the artists are devoting their services free of charge to celebrate the Bi-Centenary of the famous musical superstore Chappell of Bond Street and raise vital funds for Centrepoint to give homeless young people a future.
