Flawless to team up with the UK National Ballet

A dance troupe who performed in the finals of 2009’s Britain’s Got Talent is teaming up with the UK National Ballet. Flawless received high praise from Simon Cowell, claiming they were one of the best acts he had ever seen, then went on to perform in two Streetdance films. Now they will perform alongside the ballet company in a new production which fuses together acrobatics, ballet and street dance.

The two companies met at a Buckingham Palace event in May 2011, giving separate performances, however they worked together for the first time during a concert at London’s O2 in September 2011. The new show is to be created by Jenna Lee, choreographer and soloist at English National Ballet, and Marlon “Swoosh” Wallen, choreographer for Flawless.

English National Ballet’s artistic director, Wayne Eagling is keen to work on collaborations like this, as it keeps the company modern and fresh. Wayne also believes it will be good for dancer development. He is excited that Jenna has the opportunity to showcase the skills she has, which have received nurturing from the company, and is looking forward to the production. This will introduce a whole new audience into the ballet world.
