Haddo House Choral Operatic Society have Royal visitor

Where he once played on stage, the Earl of Wessex attended an opera in rural Aberdeenshire last night. Prince Edward joined the packed audience near Tarves at the Haddo House Hall to attend the production of the light hearted opera L’Elisir d’Amore by Haddo House Choral Operatic Society.

The Prince was the guest of honor at a supper at Haddo House before joining the audience for the show at 7:30pm. Around the property could be seen a discreet presence of police while visitors that walked around the Haddo Country Park were not aware of the royal visit.

He wore a dark suit making his appearance just after 5:30pm after arriving by Range Rover with Lord and Lady Aberdeen from House of Formartine, there nearby home. Haddo House, the Aberdeen’s centuries old family estate is where the party arrive which is now a tourist attraction under the care of the National Trust for Scotland. Trustees of the David and June Memorial Trust and choral society sponsors held the pre-performance supper.
