Jackie Evancho the only reason to watch Britain’s Got Talent

One of the world’s top selling sopranos Jackie Evancho is on route to earn millions and Simon Cowell thinks her voice is one of an angel and she is all of 11 years old. This year’s Britain’s Got Talent was lackluster at best with the semifinalists including a bloke doing impressions that were unimpressive, a dog trainer who could not train dogs, and a keyboard player more suitable for village hall than Royal viewing.

Even with the likes of favorite Ronan Parke and Jai McDowall, the winner, there was an overall absence of talent that shouted WOW! But after all the acts had appeared the ummmph finally happened when Ant and Dec, the presenters, introduced a guest artiste who was ineligible to enter the contest due to the fact she finished second in last year’s America’s Got Talent.

At 11 Miss Evancho embodies the recent trend towards the younger performers in these types of show. Her age was not a new novelty but the outcome when she opened her mouth certainly was. It was like a rerun of Susan Boyle all over again. This tiny Jackie proceeded to perform a flawless rendition of the Puccini aria Nessun Dorma, made famous by the incomparable Luciano Pavarotti.

It was not that she just sang it was just pure passion and warmth. What was incredible was the maturity of her voice if you were to hear it without seeing her you would have to assume she was a diva in her mid thirties.

Jackie is huge in her home country with over 31 million YouTube views and she is the youngest solo artist to reach platinum sales in recording history. She is on the verge of releasing her second album that has duets with Susan Boyle and Barbra Streisand. She sang at President Obama’s Christmas tree lighting and also on Oprah.
