Launch for Biggar Little Festival with Magical Programme

Magic will be everywhere come October when Stuart and Barry stars of the BBC series The Magicians impress us all with laughter and wonder as they appear in the line up for the Biggar Little Festival. Paul Zerdin will provide more illusion as the exceptional ventriloquist whose show was a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe last year and the same is expected at Biggar this year.

Magical musical performances will be heard from the British Electric Blues that feature the likes of legendary Blues singers Maggie Bell and Chris Farlowe of the Norman Beaker Band. American jazz and swing will be heard from the great Anthony Bowers and Craig Ogden and Judith Hall will enchant us all with their guitar and flute pieces.

ITV Trial and Retribution’s David Hayman plays in the one man play Six and a Tanner a gripping emotional ride reflecting on the death of this father. Purves Puppets for children will be performing two shows Pips and Panda in Magicland and Nessie the Loch Ness Montster in the Victoria styled Puppet Theatre. There are also choices of celebrating the poetry of Andrew Greig As Though We Were Flying or an award winning Disco set from the Space Vixens lead by Saucy Jack.

During the Festival art exhibitions spring up like magic in every corner of Biggar, in cafés, churches, halls, shop windows and artist’s own studios. Sunday 23rd October is Biggar Day Out, with exhibitions, craft and food fair, street entertainment, carriage rides and many of Biggar’s wonderful independent shops opening their doors. And all through the Festival there are workshops in craft, dance and choral singing to bring out your creative side. Mark your diary right now with your magic pen or your everyday pencil – 14th to 29th October, Biggar Little Festival takes over the town, and look out for colourful fliers with more information about our wizard events.
