Longlists and Public Voting Begins for Festival Awards Europe

The Festival Awards Europe voting has officially opened, the long lists have been unveiled and fans are flocking to show their support for their favourite artists and events. This is the third edition of these awards and it looks set to be the biggest and bet yet, as the number of festivals participating has risen by 15% and 32 countries have entrants.

This is phenomenal growth considering it is only the third year of the awards, and it further reinforces the consistently strengthening and diversity of the marketplace as far as pan European music festivals are concerned. You can view video highlights of the 2011 festival Awards here

The MD of Festival Awards Limited is James Drury, his company organises the awards and he has said that this years response from festivals across Europe has been phenomenal. He added that these awards were all about giving recognition to the hard work that went into making Europe’s vibrant and diverse festival industry the success that it is and is a celebration of their achievements over the past year.

He also said that these awards also give the fans the opportunity to tell the organisers of the festivals they attended how much they had enjoyed themselves at these events, as well as there being several awards that were industry focussed and were judged by an expert panel which highlighted the crucial elements that occur behind the scenes and that the public often don’t consider.

The results are jointly decided by both industry juries and the public, and the awards are the sole body in Europe that are dedicated to recognising the achievements and contributions of both the performing artists and the organisers in creating events that bring billions of Euros into the local economy. Not only that, but festivals also brighten up the summers for the tens of millions of festival goers every year.

Public voting runs from 24th October – 6th December Vote online here
