The Moscow City Ballet returns to the Manchester Opera House

The Manchester Opera House is bracing itself for the anticipated return of the renowned Moscow City Ballet dance company with the timeless beauty of classical Swan Lake which depicts the story following the beautiful Odette, the Swan Queen and the fate of Prince Siegfried as he falls in love with her.

The ballet is truly magical and is well performed with all it’s original charm and elegance featuring dazzling costumes, lavish sets and stunning choreography as well as some of the finest ballet dancers the world has to offer but not only this, they get to move to some of the finest of music from Tchaikovsky that is bellowed out by the Moscow City Ballet Orchestra.

The Moscow City Ballet is known throughout the world for its beautifully eye pleasing collection of impressive ballet classics with Russian ballet combining artistry and technique from graceful ballerinas Liliya Oryekhova and Alevtina Lapshina with live music to truly give the ultimate theatrical ballet experience.

The Moscow City Ballet was founded in 1988 by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov and is one of the most popular and successful Russian ballet company who have been gracing the stages across the UK since the early 90s and have consistently performed over 100 shows annually to mesmerised onlooking ballet fans.

Swan Lake is once again set to take the stage by storm at the Manchester Opera House between Tuesday 15th – Thursday 17th January, starting at 19:30. There is also a matinee performance on the Wednesday that starts at 14:30.
